Who's the next Spider-man?
Update: According to a story on IESB, Latino Review doesn't know what they're talking about. IESB says that no one has been approached for the role, and the only person even being considered at this point is Tobey Maguire (presumably until he officially declines the role). Maguire is at the top of what has to be an extremely short list, as, like I said below, the franchise and kind of lives and dies by him in my opinion.
I like Tobey Maguire. He's a good kid. He's one of the reasons why the Spider-man movie franchise has been as successful as it's been. So of course I want him back for more movies. But if a recent report by Latino Review turns out true, then it looks like the halcyon days of Tobey Maguire/Peter Parker are gone.
Latino Review reports that there are two names at the top of the wish list. The first is Patrick Fugit, famous for his role in Almost Famous. The other is Michael Angarano, most recently seen in Forbidden Kingdom (but also played the same character as Fugit in Almost Famous).
Now I'm not going to get on a soap box or anything about these rumored castings just yet because they're rumors. But stay tuned as this story progresses.
