Halo: The Cole Protocol launching November 25
Halo is a game. Maybe you've heard of it. The original trilogy has since been concluded (or has it...), but that doesn't mean that the universe can't live on in other medium. I mean, Star Wars certainly hasn't died despite there being only six movies, so why can't Halo. And that's the good news. In a recent press release, Tor Books announced that Halo: The Cole Protocol would be hitting stores November 25.
The book is the sixth in series based on the games, and is written by Tobias Buckell (not to be confused with Tobias Funke, who wrote The Man Inside Me, but I digress). What's the story with this story? The location of the Spartan Gray team is revealed and readers get to see a different aspect of the war between Human and Covenant forces. Buckell indicated on his blog that this was a secret project he was working on, but now the secret's out. The trade paperback will set you back $14.95 when it first hits bookstores.
The full press release is below, and you have about two months to get that Halo guitar riff cued up to listen to on repeat while reading (I've heard it adds to the experience).
