George Miller off Justice League film
And DC/Warner Brother's epic answer to Marvel's upcoming Avengers movie takes another step backward.
According to Dark Horizons, George Miller appeared on the Sydney-based morning talk show "Sunrise" and mentioned that he's no longer involved with the film in any capacity. That in itself is pretty intriguing, but a further comment from him that the "studios seem to want bigger stars in their superhero movies now." Now, this comment could just be a sweeping generalization about superhero films in general. It is true that they are making more and more money and subsequently drawing bigger and bigger actors. But what if there's more to this statement?
DC/WB was really going for fresh, new actors for the Justice League film, hoping to sell the film on the story as opposed to cast. But DC fans were about to raise hell when word got out that neither Christian Bale nor Brandon Routh would be cast as Batman and Superman respectively. Some of the other castings were intriguing, such as Common as Green Lantern, Megan Gale as Wonder Woman and possibly Ryan Reynolds as The Flash. But the rest were pretty much unknowns. So now we're back to square one with this film, wondering if it will EVER become more than just a cool concept.
