Open casting for Spider-Man on Broadway

Spider-Man is swinging towards Broadway whether you think it's a bastardization of the comic or not (I happen to think it's awesome). If you're a Broadway star (or aspiring star) and want to be a part of the musical, now's your chance. Open tryouts are going to be held over the next two months around the country, meaning this is your chance to land the role of Peter Parker or Mary Jane Watson. The casting folks are looking for three roles: Peter Parker (described as a nerd with understated sex appeal and a great rock tenor voice), Mary Jane (described as beautiful girl next door with a pop/rock singing voice) and lead female villain (amazing rock voice of any ethnicity). The locations are as follows: Orlando, FL Thursday, April 9 New York, NY Monday, April 13 Los Angeles, CA Saturday, April 18 Seattle, WA Monday, April 20 Chicago, IL Thursday, May 7 Austin, TX Wednesday, May 27 The latest casting call is the Austin, TX one. The musical hits theaters early 2010, so I would imagine they're trying to get the cast sorted out sooner rather than later. And you can console yourself with the knowledge that if you try out and aren't selected, then at least you can still go see the show. Unless of course you were hoping this would be your big break in which case I've got nothing. Full announcement below.
