Hack/Slash moves to Image Comics
Sports teams make big splashes in free agency and trades all the time, and to me this was the most obviously comparison to make when talking about Tim Seeley's move of Hack/Slash to Image Comics. Yeah, slightly big deal.
"My little creator owned book is making the move to the biggest creator owned comic company!" exclaimed Hack/Slash creator Tim Seeley. "The move is sanctioned by Devil's Due Publishing, and Josh Blaylock has been helping me with the transition. June will see the release of the first issue of HACK/SLASH: MY FIRST MANIAC, which is set in Cassie's past and is the perfect tale for new readers as well as those who've been following the book for several years. And, best of all, my crack creative team of artist Dan Leister, colorist Mark Englert, editor Jim Lowder and letterer Crank! are coming with me to Image-Land."
Seeley's first book with Image will be Hack/Slash: My First Maniac #1 explores Cassie's first case, where she has just been forced to kill her mother. Her mother who also happened to be known as the Lunch Lady. After committing the deed Cassie Hack must decide if she can live with the guilt and make a decent life with her foster parents, or tap into that Lizzie Borden inside her and save other teens in danger. The first issue is due in stores June 9 for $3.50, the same day that the Hack/Slash Omnibus Vol. 1 and Hack/Slash Vol 3: Friday the 31st hit stores.
