Our Love Is Real Going Bigger

Image Comics has posed some interesting questions in its history as a publisher, but I doubt any posed are as interesting as the one asking "animal, vegetable or mineral?" The question is tied to a new one-shot from the publisher due in stores November 2 called Our Love Is Real, written by Sam Humphries and illustrated by Steven Sanders.

Set in the not-too-distant future, the series is a story about the many odd forms that love can take. It was originally published in limited quantities the self-publishing route, but new fans will get the chance to check out the title thanks to Image Comics.

“The response to the book, even in limited release, has been nothing short of amazing,” said Humphries. “Image Comics has embraced our twisted little comic inside and out. We know we've found a great place to bring OUR LOVE IS REAL to a wider audience.”

“This is a unique book,” added Sanders. “We weren't sure how it would be received. But we love it, and apparently a lot of other people do too! We can't wait for everyone to get a chance to see it for themselves.”

The title boasts plantsexuals rioting in the streets for equal rights, humans falling in love with dogs and crystals acting as much more than jewelry. When a chance encounter on the job changes a riot cop's life forever, he finds himself caught in a bizarre love triangle that blurs romance, crime, and lust beyond recognition.

The 8x8, 24 pager will hit stores for $3.99 on November 2 in black and white glory. Full press release after the jump.
