Conan the Barbarian #1 Meets Dark Horse
Apparently, there are some people out there who feel that Robert E. Howard's most famous character in Conan is a smidge too violent. Just a smidge. He is a barbarian after all, so of course he's going to be soaked in blood in just about all facets of his life. At least Dark Horse is trying to make him a tad more palatable to a wider audience with their new look at Conan the Barbarian #1.
Written by Brian Wood and illustrated by Becky Cloonan, Conan the Barbarian #1 is a Dark Horse take on the character. The fresh look is an adaptation of "Queen of the Black Coast," which is a big hit with the fans. Conan turns his back on the civilized world and takes to the high seas alongside the pirate queen BĂȘlit, setting the stage for an epic of romance, terror, and swashbuckling.
It's a perfect jumping on point for new readers when it hits stores February 8, 2012. Check out some interiors after the jump.
