Defense With The BoomStick
(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)
Interesting week…
I have been camped out overlooking a possible entrance to the other side of the wall. I have Sam and his group to thank for pointing me this way; they are the four survivors I came across last Friday. The only problem with this spot is the amount of trouble it's going to be getting through it. Looks like plenty of wire, landmines and even some automated guns as well.
You can say they didn’t want anyone getting in close, zombie or survivor alike. I did actually see some movement on the wall that looked like patrols, but I couldn’t tell as I only saw them one night in the rain and not since.
I've spent the past few days looking for any weak spot or possible way in through and it's not looking good for me here. I thought that maybe I would spot one eventually, but after three and half days I cannot find a single one. They did their homework in reinforcing this place.
I even got a chance to see it in action when a group of about seven zombies ambled that way and got blown to pieces or just outright flattened. Short of an RPG or a bazooka there's no way I'm going to be able to get close enough to plant some C-4 and blow the doors as a way in.
Speaking of that group of survivors they said they were giving up on the wall and heading back west to find somewhere to ride it out a bit. I gave them general directions and a mark on their map to that barbershop I came across back in Pennsylvania. They can stop there for a bit to resupply, mainly to get better guns since I only gave them some extra pistols I had.
Provided they make it there as zombies have been a lot more agitated and bloodlusting. They don't give up a chase so easily anymore.
Back to the problem at hand with this gate. It's beginning to look more and more like I am gonna have to try to get around it by sea. I'll go up a little ways further north first just to make sure there aren’t any ways to get across up there. If that path fails than it's back south and finding a boat is the next plan to try.
Back to recon duty…
