Solicitations - Aspen April

Already talking about April. That's how the calendar works as we march towards its end per the Mayans. What's to look forward to in April then? Well, there's PAX East. And there are comics due out from Aspen.

Top of the list is Fathom: Kiani (Vol 2) #1, written by Vince Hernandez and illustrated by Oliver Nome (colors by John Starr). Kiani is making a comeback and she's pissed. The tides of war have settled between the race of Humans and the underwater race known as the Blue, however, the pact between the two civilizations is not without dissent and retaliatory violence deep below the tides.

Amidst this chaotic uncertainty within the cities of the Blue, Kiani shockingly returns with her own vengeance in mind against those who sought to end her goal of a unified…and superior race. Now, with her sudden arrival all bets are off, as her powerful Elite Blue powers have not only returned—but now, they are even stronger!

Fathom: Kiani (Vol 2) #1 hits stores April 11.

Kiani's back and she's taking aim at Fathom, who also has her own comic hitting another issue in April. Fathom Vol. 4 #6 is written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated by Alex Konat (colors by Beth Sotelo).

Tensions below the surface have reached a breaking point, and as the war drums sound, the special-forces unit of the Japanese Undersea Army, launches a powerful attack upon the Church of the Eternal Depths…and only Aspen Matthews can prevent a sub-oceanic holocaust that would devastate all life on the planet!

Fathom Vol. 4 #6 is in stores April 25th.

Taking a step back from the Fathom/Kiani side of the house, Aspen will also be releasing Haunted City #3 to eager readers. Written by Chap Taylor and Peter Johnson (art by Michael Ryan), Haunted City #3 continues the tale of NYC as a crazy place to live.

With Cerberus and his werewolf gangsters closing in, Tom steals his father's credentials and breaks into the NYPD's evidence warehouse, hoping to steal enough heroin to buy his way out of a death sentence. But instead of narcotics, Tom discovers evidence that his legendary father may be more sinner than saint. Meanwhile, the Morrigan lures yet another innocent child ever closer to his doom.

Haunted City #3 is in stores April 18th.

Finally, it's back under the water for a Kiani statue of two flavors. Both are designed by Michael Turner and sculpted by Dene Mason. The first is the standard issue Kiani, measuring over 18" tall and 7" wide at the base. The second flavor is a bit spicier, as it's the "Lava Edition".

Limited to 300 statues (and only 50 remain as of this moment), the Lava Edition features a brand new variant paint application, an exclusive dual sword arm sculpt, a light up, pulsating water base and an engraved Kiani name plate. Throw in a matching number parchment print Certificate of Authenticity along with a full-size Kiani Lava Edition color print signed by Turner and Peter Steigerwald.

Both statues are in stores April 11. Check out the full solicitations and covers below.
