Defense With The BoomStick
(Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight after being bitten and partially cured to walk as a half-zombie among them.)
Well I'm getting closer.
I say that judging by the amount of traps and layers of security they have in this place.
A few days back one of those traps got the guy traveling with me, the poor bastard never saw it coming. It's been a rough few days since then and all I can do is continue to press forward. Find somebody who can lead me out of this mess and to where I need to find who's in charge.
It has been a slow going week since his death and I'm loaded down with gear from both of us. I've only managed to get halfway through Massachusetts I think--at least if the signs are correct. With the amount of crap they've put up to slow down and/or destroy anything that tries to come through here means I must be heading in the right direction. Come to think of it, with this many layer of defense they probably don’t do a lot of patrols through here figuring that nothing can get past any of it.
Realizing I can’t carry all this gear I've searched for a place to hide some of it as a backup plan. Just all of the buildings have been too messed up or just not a great spot to hide gear. They really planned ahead in setting all this up. Might have to just bury it somewhere as there's no telling when I might get to the encampment or wander into their patrol area and get picked up. Still haven’t come across any zombies though (at least up and moving ones) as there are parts of zombies all over the place.
Kind of crazy to think they've cleared out all of the zombies in this area they've cleared out. That must have taken a long time to get done and I bet they lost a lot of people in the process. Maybe that's why there's so much unused land not settled or cultivated for anything. Makes me wonder where the Army units that were based here are at. Maybe they're all on the wall. Hopefully we'll find out soon. Gotta take a break as this backpack is killing me.
