Preview - Frankenstein Alive, Alive! #1
It's a fairly well known bit of truth that Bernie Wrightson is one of the best illustrators ever. His penchant for horror has left some memorable images with readers for decades now and he's showing no signs of slowing down. What if he were paired with a writer whose just as good at writing horror as Wrightson is illustrating it? You get the superb looking Frankenstein Alive, Alive! #1, featuring Steve Niles' writing.
The work takes Wrightson back to Frankenstein, who illustrated a version of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein in 1983. He's now returning to his passion project with a comic series that picks up after the novel. And Niles is giving Wrightson some haunting words to match.
The pages appear in black and white, but each page was scanned in color to as closely mimic the experience of viewing the actual art as possible. Each issue will also include supplemental materials, including interviews, essays and a serialization of the original prose story by Shelley.
