UDON Makes Way for Dark Souls: Design Works
Dark Souls is an unheralded gem among video games. The spiritual (soulful?) successor to Demon's Souls, the game's original release didn't really make many waves among gamers, but those who have played it strongly defend the game's incredible difficulty and satisfying gameplay. Now, a sequel is in the works to take gamers back to the frustration of the game and it's getting some accompaniment in the form of Dark Souls: Design Works from UDON Entertainment.
This October, fans old and new can discover the mystic land of Lordran and all of the monsters, weapons, environments, and undead hordes that lie within, in Dark Souls: Design Works, coming from UDON Entertainment. The work showcases the grim and haunting artwork behind Dark Souls in a gorgeous full-color hardcover collection, matching the Japanese edition. Featuring key visuals, concept art, character, weapon and monster designs, and rough sketches, this is a complete picture of the brutal world of Dark Souls. Design Works also includes an exclusive behind-the-scenes interview with game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and many of the game’s artists, making it a real treat for fans of the game.
Dark Souls: Design Works will clock in at 128 pages in a hardcover, 8.25" wide by 11.75" long format. It's slated to be released in October for $39.99 and is available for preorder now.
