Defense With the BoomStick
(Defense With The BoomStick Disclaimer: This post is an ongoing story set in a world where zombies have taken over and people are fighting to survive anyway they can. Originally it was a post of news and tips to help survivors make it one more day alive, but now it has became a story of my fight to survive and to keep on living.)
It's been one long week playing hide and seek with these zombies. I’ve been bouncing from house to house trying to stay a few steps ahead of the pack chasing after me. I'm still in the town of Ash Fork as this place has too many untapped resources around to aid me. I did get to explore more and have found some useful tools in getting rid of my shadows.
A couple days ago I managed to take out a few of them, knocking their numbers down to about three. These three seemed to be in the best shape out of the bunch and that's why they're still sticking after me. The others I took care of with some homemade molotov cocktails I made after finding some liquor bottles in this bar. I led them to a small building, got them all banging on the front door as I ran out the back, set the towel on fire ran around the front and hit the group with the two bottles. You should of seen how they went up; just a big blaze of moving bodies heading towards me.
I didn’t stick around to see the outcome as I high-tailed it out of there, heading down the street and cutting down behind this building. Started doing anything I could to make sure they couldn’t follow me, darting behind as many buildings and through shrubs as I could. Now I find myself holed up in the old high school gym, sleeping on top of the bleachers; you know the ones that fold up against the wall. Waiting out until I can make my next move and get rid of these last three zombies; I haven’t seen any other zombies except the ones I brought to town.
With this high school being one of the largest buildings I figure to have a good bit of room to maneuver around with and explore. I thought I saw some of those electric golf carts and a gator out back by the football field. Not sure if they run, but that could be my ticket to not walking anymore. I need to get out there to check it out, but killing these zombies will make life a hell of a lot easier. With only three left and about a box full of shotgun shells, I'm just going to lure them out on the street and take them out. No sense frakking around anymore.
I just need to get some sleep first before I try it as I've been running on very little for the past four days now. This time locked up in the gym is the few hours I've had to myself without worry. All the doors are locked with chains and the windows are all too high for a zombie to get through. I'm still sleeping up high just to be safe and if they did come in here while I was up top wouldn’t be a bad thing as I can safely shoot them from up here. I bet my luck would not be that good though.
