Cognetic Toys With Absolute Power
Not everyone has the ability to be the person in charge of it all. Sure, many will think that if they were in charge that they could make things better. Maybe even make things a perfect world. What if a single being decided to pursue the aforementioned line of though to take control of humanity and set it on a different course? This October, James Tynion IV and Eryk Donovan return with a fresh look at how the world could end in the oversized, three-issue event Cognetic. When a powerful psychic being that once controlled one-third of the world’s population in a hivemind resurfaces to set humanity back on track, the people of New York City struggle to comprehend the strange and horrifying things happening to them, and one young woman in the FBI will have to pay a terrible price if she’s going to save them.
“James and Eryk are breaking the mould with one fantastic apocalyptic ‘what if’ after another,” said BOOM! Studios Editor-in-Chief Matt Gagnon. “Memetic was a horrifying digital apocalypse that made us all think twice about sharing funny memes, while Cognetic taps into the innate desire for control that everyone has and proves how deadly it can be. This new look at how the world ends will hit you with the hard question: What would you sacrifice to save humanity?”
Cognetic #1 is oversized at 48 pages (all three issues of the miniseries will be 48 pages) and arrives in comic shops on October 21st with a main cover by Donovan for the price of $4.99 under Diamond order code AUG151188. Also available in a limited quality is a 10 Years incentive cover by Felipe Smith and a retailer incentive cover by Juan Doe. The Final Order Cutoff deadline for retailers is September 21st.

James Tynion IV and Eryk Donovan Toy with Absolute Power in October's 'Cognetic'
September 18, 2015 (Los Angeles, Calif.) - Everyone’s had the thought at least once in their lives. If I were in charge, things would be better. If I had total power, I could make a perfect world. It’s a fundamentally human desire for control. But what if there was someone—or something—bigger than humanity that had the same thought? What if this single being decided to take control of humanity and set it on a different course?
